Saint Louis University hosted four food trucks outside of Grand Hall on Friday, April 16 for students to enjoy free of charge. While everyone was only supposed to choose one food truck per person, “people were getting food from multiple trucks” Krysta Couzi, second year student says.

Additionally, there was little to no social distancing practiced. Between how close the trucks were parked to each other and the number of students who showed up for some lunch time fun, there was little room left between everyone.

Sophomore Shannon Nibbio went with friends, but didn’t end up getting food because of long lines and lack of social distancing.

“It was very nerve wracking because they did not plan this well. It’s too many people and they ran out of food, there’s no social distancing,” Nibbio said.

The food truck event was a part of the conclusion to Atlas week at SLU, a program dedicated to increasing awareness of global issues and inspiring and informing action. This year’s focus was “The House that Race Built.” The food trucks included, funnel cakes, crepes, and Hawaiian food.
